OOTD…via Instagram

I got this sweater dress for Layla for Thanksgiving from Baby Gap. Initially she wore it as a dress with stockings but now it serves as a great sweater with leggings for our windy SoCal days. I love getting multiple uses out of Layla’s clothes because kids grow out of stuff so fast!

Breakfast

I like to give Layla eggs at least every other day because its a good source of protein and the yolk is rich in iron. Usually I make scrambled because its easier for her to pick up the chunks. With every meal I give her a side of fruit as well.

Weekend Recap

Layla and I had a busy week last week, so we took it easy this weekend. On Saturday we took a quick trip to Ikea…I am in the works of setting up a little kitchen corner for Layla and wanted to see what Ikea had (as soon as I get everything, I’ll make sure to post some pics). Layla basically turned Ikea in to her own little playground and whats an Ikea trip without some ice cream? This was Layla’s first time trying ice cream at Ikea. IMG_0267IMG_0263

After we met up with some friends and got some amazing cake from Susie’s Cakes (if you live in SoCal you must go)!. Layla was a huge fan of all their colorful delicious looking cupcakes.

On Sunday Layla hung out with her cousins while I did some grocery shopping and made her fruit pouches for the week. I promise to get the recipe up later this week. I use the Infantino Squeeze Station to make my own homemade pouches.

After we went on a picnic with some friends…Layla ran around for three hours, burnt some energy and passed out!

Sunday Funday Outfit

Quick and Easy Organic French Toast Breakfast

IMG_0097We are all about breakfast in our household…if you can tell! But with work and play date schedules we’re always on a time crunch so I’ve tried to find quick but hearty breakfasts I can make for the whole family! We all love French Toast and eggs and this recipe literally takes under two minutes to make.

What you need: 3 eggs, 3 pieces of toast (any kind you like…we use multigrain, but some like cinnamon or other sweet breads), cinnamon, milk and maple syrup. I like to use all organic products.

1. Beat 3 eggs and apx 2 tblsp of milk (you can add 1/2 tspn of vanilla and 1/2 tspn of brown sugar for a sweeter egg batter)

2. Soak your toast in the mix for apx 1 min (make sure to get both sides)

3. Cook both sides on a heated skillet and your done!

4. Sprinkle with cinnamon and your favorite maple syrup

I made scrambled eggs with the leftover egg batter. I like Layla to have fruit with every meal so this AM we had fresh squeezed organic OJ. IMG_0099
